Why AxVault?

As an independent entity we freely and honestly provide information on all guitar manufacturers.  Our system was conceived, designed, built, and is continually upgraded by and for guitar enthusiasts for guitar enthusiasts.  We encourage feedback from our membership on improvements you’d like to see and implement changes daily to make our member experience the best it can possibly be.  Our articles with musicians and manufacturers keep you appraised of industry news and trends.  Our communications features allow guitar enthusiasts worldwide to trade tips, guitars, amps, parts, and accessories.

What is a Virtual Provenance?

Collectible guitars are without doubt functional works of art.  Much like provenance in the world of fine art a Virtual Provenance is a documented chain of ownership authenticating the genuine status of an instrument including upgrades, repairs, and condition.  Virtual Provenance documents legitimate ownership and aids in the prevention of counterfeiting, fraudulent modification, and resale of stolen equipment.  Virtual Provenance significantly increases the resale value of your collection providing secure and trusted documentation to future owners.

Can I print or transfer my Virtual Provenance?

Members can view and print a Virtual Provenance at any time for use in documenting the instruments they own for insurance purposes, resale documentation, or any other requirement. ( Pending)

Is Virtual Provenance an appraisal?   

No , Virtual Provenance is the archiving of your guitars information to establish a chain of ownership for each instrument listed on AxVault. 

Is my information secure

Yes,  AxVault is a secure site using the best technology available to keep our members data safe and secure.  Members have the option to provide as much or as little information as desired that can be viewed by others.  All posting are listed by anonymous screen names and passwords chosen by the member.

How do I sign up?

Follow the Sign Me Up link here.  Create a user name and password and provide as much or as little information about yourself and your guitar preferences and get started adding instruments.  If you decide to upgrade to the AxVault Platinum membership and all the additional services provided click the Upgrade Now link at the bottom of the sign up page.

How do I get free months for referrals?

When you send a link to friends to view your collection and inviting them to join they’ll be asked for the screen name of the AxVault member who referred them to the site.  Once they sign up for any level of membership Platinum Members accounts will be credited one free month and they will be sent a confirmation via e-mail.  Any questions e-mail referrals@axvault.com.

Can There be duplicate serial numbers?

Yes, some manufacturers, Gibson for one, has changed serial number assignment systems several times.  This affects a small number of guitars made. Other identifying criteria may used by to distinguish guitars from each other.  AxVault flags duplicate serial numbers and requests additional information to complete their registration.

Is Axvault a Auction Site?

No,  Axvault is a online archive and guitar community where musicians, collectors, and enthusiasts can start their virtual provenance and display their guitar collections.  AxVault provides a secure forum for members interested in buying, selling, or trading guitars.  AxVault is not responsible for any of these activities.  They are conducted at the risk of the member.  AxVault does not collect fees for transactions between members.
